Fair Use Policy
Effective 2026-10-11
Why there is a policy at all
Premium promises an unlimited number of links, workspaces, profiles and synchronised installations, and for the people it is made for - someone organising the links they actually use - that promise holds. The limits below exist only so that the service cannot be used as bulk storage, filled by a script, or loaded in a way that slows it down for everybody else.
They were set with the expectation that 99.99 % of users will never reach any of them. If you are using Tabilinks the way it is meant to be used, you can stop reading here.
The limits
| What | Limit |
|---|---|
| Profiles per account | 50 |
| Workspaces in one profile | 50 |
| Groups in one workspace | 25 |
| Subgroups in one group | 25 |
| Links in one workspace | 500 |
| Closed tabs kept in the history | 500 |
| Visited pages kept in the browsing history | 1000 |
| Synchronised installations | 100 |
The limits on groups, subgroups and links apply on every plan, the free one included. The free plan has its own, lower limits on profiles, workspaces, installations, the closed tabs history and the browsing history, shown on the home page.
What happens when you reach one
You cannot add another item of that kind where the limit was reached until you remove one: a full workspace takes no more links, but your other workspaces are not affected. Nothing you already have is deleted or changed. The closed tabs history keeps the 500 most recent tabs and the browsing history the 1000 most recently visited pages; older ones make room for newer ones.
Data can still end up over a limit - for example when two installations that were used apart are connected to one account. That data is never deleted: it stays on the device that holds it and does not synchronise. The page My devices shows, device by device, what synchronises and what does not.
If you genuinely need more
Write to [email protected] and tell us what you are doing. A real use the limits did not foresee is something we want to hear about, and we would rather raise a limit than turn somebody away.
Changes to these limits
This policy is part of the Terms of Service. If we change a limit, we update this page and its effective date, and we announce a lower limit in advance.
